Marvel Comics Entertaining for Years

Marvel comics started in 1939 with comic books for all people to enjoy. However, as we grow into adulthood many of these things tend to get lost and forgotten about. Many of us will even admit that we still enjoy looking at them. Just because we had to grow up and take on adult responsibilities does not mean that we need to leave everything from our childhood behind. How can anyone resist the pull of Spider man, Iron Man or the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Captain America and others? We all love reading the comics from our childhood. Started in 1939 as a subsidiary to Marvel Entertainment, the comic book heroes of Marvel are also the stars of celluloid world today.

Martin Goodman started this company years ago and it was called Timely Publications at that time. It was then purchase by Walt Disney in 2009.

The comic book company reached its cult status thanks to the love shown by the generation of readers to its characters. But those characters owe their existence to a bevy of talented writers and art directors who created spell binding stories with them. Some of the notable names among the creators include Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Steve Ditko.

The first comic hero that this company created was the Human Torch. He struck it big for the company and they began to see success. Then Captain America came along. He did just as well as the Torch, if not better.

There were so many different characters over the years that many of them may not even be remembered but in their time they were all successful and they made the company a lot of money. The advertising teams and other creative individuals that worked on these comic books all had a role in the success.

Take some time to think about just how successful many of these characters actually were and how they have continued to make their mark on society. Many of them have actually been made into movies that we watch in the theaters now.

Headquartered in New York, Marvel comics extend to other media like, television, theme park and video games. For most of its life, DC comics remained its main rival. They even lost several of their writers as they left and formed their own company which is called Image comics. But, they continue to please their fans and make their characters come to life so that people can enjoy them for years to come.
