Cupertino city is an urban area in Santa Clara County, California, united states. It is in the west of San Jose and with portions of the city extending to the foothills of Santa Cruz Mountains. It’s best called the home of the Apple, Inc.
The name of the city is after Arroyo San Jose de Cupertino which is now called the Stevens creek. It was named after Saint Joseph of Cupertino by the cartographer of a Spanish explorer named Juan Bautista de Anza.
Cupertino was a small rural town during the 1800s. Its major revenue stream is its fruit farming. Up to the present, nearly the entire land area of the Cupertino town is covered by orchards of different fruits such as apricots, prunes, plums and cherries. A wine factory was built on Montebello Ridge since 1800.

The town of Cupertino is made of several subdivisions which were mostly developed in the 1960s. Monta Vista and Rancho Rinconada were built in the 1950s. The seven Springs at the southern part of Cupertino was developed in 1980s. The newest neighborhood is the Oak Valley which was developed in 2k.
