The retail industry is a massive industry, turning over billions of pounds in profits every year. There are shops that sell all types of things, from small independent shops specialising in a distinct product, to huge hypermarkets which sell nearly everything you could think of. Now the majority of people might think of Careers within retail as just being dreary, shelf stacking jobs, working weekends and late nights, and being inadequately waged, and those people are wrong. In reality the retail industry is an enormous dynamic industry, with some extremely lucrative and highly paid Careers on offer for the committed and dedicated person. We are going to take a look at just a small sample of some of the different Careers that exist, and also take a look at what employers are looking for in people when hunting for people to employ in these positions.

As stated within the retail industry there are several different areas you could move into. You may have a particular hobby you really enjoy doing, for example, fishing, so you may wish to work within a shop that sells fishing items and gear. You may just enjoy selling things, and so working in a shop which sells a wide variety of different items may be more suited to you, for example taking on a New career within a department store or large supermarket. There are several New careers accessible for people within this industry, and due to the nature of the industry, it allows for lots of people to work in a New career which entails retail work, but also allows them to keep working with products they have an interest in.

In the retail industry are there are many different career paths you can pursue, and various areas within retail that can be branched into. So for example, people may start out as an assistant, then possibly move up to a supervisor position, and then maybe a manager of a department. Depending on the size of the business you are working in, there may be big prospects for you to travel the country and manage large stores. You may even become a regional director, controlling the management of a collection of stores. To get a New career such as that requires an extreme amount of dedication and commitment, but once you get to that kind of level you can expect an incredibly generous salary as reward for your hard work and dedication. Most of the larger chains and department stores also offer graduate schemes, for graduates to enter managerial jobs within store and train this way.

There are also other jobs available within retail that people might not immediately think of, but are still vital to the effective running of any retail establishment. For example, the majority of stores will need security to look after its goods and keep loss through theft to a minimum. There are also behind the scenes administration jobs offered, where people are employed to take care of things such as staff records, stock levels and things like that.

So for anyone hunting for New careers, then going for Careers within retail means you can get a lot of flexibility over the kind of work you do, and you can try and gain work in an area which you have an interest in.

In our generations, everybody will have been taught at some point by a teacher or trainer. Of course school is compulsory, so there are hardly any cases indeed where someone may not have been taught by a teacher, and these are generally very exceptional cases. Considering how everybody will have interacted with these Careers at some stage, it should be rather clear how significant teachers are to our present society. Without these Careers, we would not have the understanding we do today, it would be tough for us to study without the proper supervision and methods. Teaching can be a very popular path to follow, but definitely not an easy one.

Initially, we have to distinguish between teachers and trainers. They do both carry out similar tasks, but there are a couple of big differences that defines them. A teacher as you most likely already know, works in a school educating children or teenagers about numerous subjects. The goal is to supply these students with the know-how required to move forward in life and attain a job or further education. Trainers though, are often working with people already in a job. They are tasked with making sure the employees are skilled enough to carry out their work, often training new employees and reviewing anything new with the present team. There are also positions obtainable as teaching assistants. These members of staff in schools typically aid the teachers in the classroom and work personally with the children to ensure they have no troubles with the work. These jobs are paid less than teachers but possess a lower entry requirement.

In England there are roughly 470,000 registered teachers working in schools. This figure doesn’t include trainers within workplaces or community learning and development positions, the complete number of employees working in a teaching or training role is perhaps closer to 800,000. When taking into account the numbers it can seem like getting into New careers in this sector of work isn’t too difficult, truth is there is actually a deficiency of certain types of teachers including maths and modern languages. However, this does not mean you can basically walk into one of these positions, if you are considering these Career ideas you will need to begin by getting at least C grade GCSEs in English, Maths and Sciences and you are required to be studying or have already completed a degree in order to participate in your initial teacher training and attain qualified teacher status.

These Careers can be very satisfying for those who achieve them. Realising that you are showing the way for these students’ lives can be a very fulfilling thought. Not only is the job itself extremely satisfying, but New careers in teaching often have an opening salary of around £25k per annum with the chance to increase to up to £100k if you progress into university lecturing. For trainers, their wages depends completely on the sort of place they work for, but regardless of this, these Career ideas are ideal selections for progression in your existing job if you begin to get bored of the same routine. Often if you can develop up to supervisor level, you’d be in a good position to move into a training spot.

There are various options available to people wanting to start up a New career within a call centre environment. Developing your Career through a call centre is often a great way to develop, as quite often call centres prefer to promote individuals who have worked on their campaigns and know all about the services they are supporting. They do not very often recruit from outside of the business, so if you have the enthusiasm and dedication to succeed, then this can be a good place to progress. I am going to talk about some of the choices offered to people searching for New careers within call centres, so you can have a more informaed idea of what you can expect whilst working a Career within a call centre environment.

Normally, working in a call centre will have you beginning right at the bottom, as a front line advisor, and you will have to work your way up. There will be many New careers for you to choose from once you have your foot in the door, as it were, but at first pretty much everybody will start at the same place. The reason for this is because call centres have such high rates of turnover for staff, as often they can be rather stressful places to work, and as already mentioned they seldom recruit managers from outside the business, as they prefer people who have a solid knowledge of the product that is being supported, and also a good understanding of the business itself, particularly when working for an outsourcing company, which is where a great deal of call centre work comes from these days. Normally the path of progression goes something like this: you work as a front line agent, taking calls. Then your responsibilities will be increased over time, you might start mentoring other individuals, and then aiding a team leader and then perhaps applying for a job of team leader yourself. It is at this point your get more choices about which Career path you would like to go down, whether you wish to progress up to the next level of team leader, which would be an operations manager, or you may want to start looking at other New careers within the call centre itself. This might involve simply becoming a manager on a different campaign, or maybe moving into an administration job, or human resources. There are other choices available too, like a Career as a building resources director, where your role will be to ensure the building is up to standard, executing changes called for by employees to try and enhance the quality of the work place.

This is just a small selection of what is offered to people who are wanting to progress and expand their Career within the call centre environment. There are many more opportunities offered, such as moving to call centres in different parts of the country, or even the world, especially when working for an outsourcing company, as they provide work in call centres all over the world in various locations. For the eager and devoted individual, call centres can be a good way to progress and get experience in management jobs.

There are several Careers offered within a theme park setting, right down from ride operator to manager of the park. Here we are going to examine some of the various Careers concerned with operating and advertising a theme park, with a view to giving people an idea of what is available. Hopefully in turn this will provide people who are perhaps looking for a New career to start on an idea of what is open to them should they decide to work in a theme park.

Now there are several different Careers connected with the everyday maintenance and running of a theme park, and then there are also Careers available which are more involved with the marketing and administration of operating a theme park. Then there are also Careers offered which are concerned with the invention and testing of new rides and attractions for the theme park. So as you can see we already have room for a huge range of different Careers for people to embark upon. New careers often become accessible in theme parks as a consequence of improving technology, and the ability to construct rides which previously have been impossible to construct. We will investigate some of these different Careers, to help people who are searching for New careers find something that will be appropriate for them.

A good place to start a New career in a theme park is right at the bottom, so maybe becoming a ride operator, or working in one of the many shops and stalls the theme parks have on offer. The reasoning behind this is it gives you with direct contact with the people who are visiting the park, so you can get a good idea of what they like about the park, what they don’t like, and things that should be better. It also will help you attain useful experience on how the park is run as you can see how different tasks are handed over throughout the course of the day, and also give you an idea on the many things which must be considered when working in a theme park. It will also help give you a better idea of exactly which New career you wish to progress into, whether you want to move to a more managerial job, or a marketing job, or maybe a more hands on job such as a maintenance technician.

For a New career making rides for theme parks, typically you will be expected to have a relevant degree such as a degree in physics. Designing and manufacturing rides demands thorough knowledge and understanding of forces on people, and also what materials and such which would be used to build a ride, and whether it can cope with the applied pressure. As such this is an incredibly challenging job to get into, so you have to be a very talented and also highly dedicated individual in order to succeed in a job such as this.

So as you can see there are several different Careers on offer within a theme park environment, you just need to select what suits you best and then work your way to the top, easily possible if you have the dedication and focus to succeed.

Have you ever considered what it could be like to have a Career which would allow you to play games for a living, being salaried to have fun at work? Well, one such Career is out there, and it is something I want like to discuss, as I myself have been hunting for New careers for a little while, and this is one of the New careers I have researched which has looked like a great deal of fun. The Career I am on about is concerned with working in the Games Workshop, which is dedicated to showing people how to play, paint, and collect the very popular Warhammer game. There are many New careers you can get into which are connected with this game, but I wish to look at the people who are at the front line of this – the shop assistants and managers across the UK.

Now, to be able to genuinely consider this as a New career, you need to be, not also really good at the Warhammer game (well, perhaps not good, but a good comprehension of how it works and the rules are essential) you need to be a incredibly bubbly, friendly person, and able to connect well with just about every person you meet. The reason for this is extremely important – your aim is to attract people to the store, and welcome newcomers to the game, and then get them psyched enough about the game to want to come back and play more. More importantly, you need to get them interested enough that they are prepared to spend money on the game – the Warhamer game is a pretty expensive hobby to get into, so you really do need to get people psyched and stirred to play this game and take it up as a hobby, if you are going to do well. Now this means of course, that a large part of your Career is spent playing the game, and encouraging others to play as well.

It is not just about playing the game however; you will need to show a bit resourcefulness and promotions and events at your store in order to help encourage business. Painting workshops are massively popular in these shops, where people can go along and get free advice on painting their figures, and possibly be convinced to buy more paints that they may need later on, or to enrich the look of their models. So it will help if you have been able to devote a little time to improving your painting technique and improving on it, so you can then guide other people in their attempts to paint fantastic models.

Of all the New careers I have viewed recently, this certainly seems to be one of the most fun ones I have looked at. Certainly, when talking to the managers of several stores which are local to me, I have discovered that they are really lively, happy people who love their job, and will go to great lengths to help you get used to the game, and ensure you understand fully what is occuring when you play. This is why it is such an interesting New career to me.

Thousands of people each year switch their Careers or set off on a new one, you could simply be starting out, or you might be tired of your current one and need something different. What not many people consider though when finding New Careers, is that they have the alternative of trying self employment and starting their own personal Careers. Without self employment we wouldn’t be where we are presently, many businesses are born from one persons goal to become their own boss, also a lot of today’s Career Choices are still primarily self employed, plumbers and electricians for example. Certainly we aren’t trying to say you have to go into self employment, but it certainly shouldn’t be forgotten when hunting for New Careers. Let’s take a glance at the benefits of both full-time employment and self employment.

The first and possibly most apparent thing to bear in mind about these Careers is the responsibility. Of course in self employment you become own boss, meaning it’s your responsibility to organise your workload and get everything done on time. This could be thought of as both a good and a bad point. Plenty of individuals prefer to have someone there to manage them, it makes your work easier to deal with and you don’t have all of the further responsibilities. This is undoubtedly something you ought to take into consideration if you wanted to have a go at self employment, because if you can’t sort your workload efficiently, then you will have difficulties with your job and find yourself working longer hours.

While on the subject of hours, that is an additional big difference between the two kinds of employment. Self employed Careers let you pick your own working hours, this is of course your own business, you can run it how you like. You might pick your days off and the time you work in a lot of cases, it does of course depend on the sort of business you run, some may need certain hours of work to function effectively, but it is still your own option at the end of the day. Working full time in a company however usually requires set hours and set shifts, though there is one benefit to this and that is when employed for a company, you are given sick and holiday pay, whereas taking a day or two off during self employment comes out of your own pocket.

There are a lot of other variations between these Career Choices. It wouldn’t really be possible to list each one, but a few other things you should be considering when browsing for these New Careers are; self employed people need to find their own customers and clients, fail to do this and you aren’t going to earn any money and then of course there are the lesser things, like having to pay your own taxes and national insurance or having to acquire your own equipment to be able to do the job. There is a lot that has to be taken into consideration when looking to make Career Choices, but it’s vital that you think over it all carefully so that you can make the most suitable decision. Self employment isn’t for everyone, but for those that like the idea, there is a lot of possibilities assuming you put the effort in.

Careers aren’t really the simplest thing ever to come by. Finding one that you like and is fitting for you isn’t a straightforward task. When you at last locate one too, there is permanently a lot of competition for the place, you need to have something to give you the edge over everyone else. That’s why during school you ought to be thinking about going to university. Yes you can always take on a university course later in life, but the faster you realise what you want to do, the sooner you can work your way to it. A degree is probably the greatest way of getting New careers, not only does it greatly enhance your CV, but it shows you have a good level of proficiency in that line of work.

It can be difficult trying to think ahead while still in school, you’re not really at the age to be concerned about work and earning a a decent income. Not everyone is able to make a strong decision on their Career ideas and so might struggle to choose a university course to enrol on. If that is the case, it’s good to consider that although it is typically better to have a qualification connected to the job you apply for, there are many degrees you can earn that will be useful to a large range of Careers. At times the employer isn’t even looking for a specific degree, simply having a degree shows the employer the level of dedication that you can bring to the position, so it’s always going to be an advantage to have a degree than to not have one.

If you still feel like you ought to be studying on a more specific course, but still aren’t any closer with your Career ideas, then maybe consider speaking to a Careers advisor. You ought to get all the assistance you can, there is so many of people go to university now that if you don’t own a degree, you may badly harm your chance at a job. As said earlier you can always take a course later on, but it’s a good idea to get a head start in life and a Careers advisor can help show you the way. You can go through a number of job groups to find where your talents lie and maybe take some aptitude tests to discover what your best at. These things can help you to discover some New careers to bear in mind and hopefully help you choose a course you like.

It’s vital to bear in mind that regardless of what has been discussed in this article, applying to university is not compulsory. It can at times feel like it is and you may realise that some jobs are out of reach without a degree, but if you really don’t think university is right for you, then don’t let any person pressure you into it. It’s better that you lead your own path and be content than throw away several years of your life being miserable and potentially failing anyways down to a lack of interest. University isn’t affordable for everyone, so if you’re going to go, ensure you do it right and enjoy your time there.

If you say the words Warhammer or Games Workshop to most people, they doubtless have no clue what you are talking about. Or, they will have a sketchy idea, they might recollect seeing the shop in town or at the local shopping centre, but have never really paid much attention to it. For some people though, Games Workshop is a meeting place that they travel to at least once a week, and take with them an army of figures with which they will compete in games and competitions and such. It is a very intricate hobby, and as such can make up a huge part of some people’s lives. For people who are interested in this, they might want to start a New career which is connected to either the Warhammer game or the Games Workshop itself, so they have an occupation which they truly enjoy doing, and are not stuck in a crappy job that they do not enjoy very much.
Now there are several different Careers available, some related to working in the shops directly, and others relating to the design and construction of the figures. New figures and sets are released reasonably often, and occasionally some older figures might get an overhaul or an update of some kind, but even so the competition is incredibly fierce. You have people who spend a huge amount of hours drawing, planning, painting, and designing in their own time, in order to make sure they can provide the best, so you must be prepared to do so as well.

A somewhat easier New career option is to get some work working in one of the several Games Workshop stores which are scattered around many locations throughout the country. You can then advance onto different Careers such as supervisor, store manager, and then possibly into other careers like regional director. Still a rather tough and committed role, but still allowing you to progress your professional career, and it also means you do not need to be incredibly talented in order to succeed.

Other New careers linked with Warhammer are authors – behind this huge game there is a wealth of stories, spanning across countries, planets, even galaxies. As such there are a number of authors devoted to creating and preserving the world of Warhammer, making sure it is readable and pleasing to its very loyal fan base.

If I could select from any New career that was presented to me, I think I would have to pick a New career as an animator. I have always been a big fan of animated pieces, and in my spare time I do love to draw. However, I do not consider myself artistic enough to really contemplate Careers within animation – however, as it’s something I have always been interested in, I have undertaken a lot of research into becoming an animator and the type of things you can gain from this role. I wish to share this knowledge so that it may assist others who are looking for New careers get a better idea of whether or not Careers within animation are really the right choice for them.

The main talent you need to be a successful animator, is not purely talent with drawing, although that really does help, but the main thing you should be is creative and imaginative. There are numerous different areas you can get into with regards to animation. There is the very popular computer-generated animation, which presently is the most popular kind of animation out there. There is also 2D computer animation, and of course there is your conventional hand-drawn 2D animation. You can also get into animation utilising stop-motion, even though this is becoming less and less popular within the main stream, it still has its charms. For the more traditional animations, no recognised qualifications are asked for, just a good ability to draw and a lot of imagination. For computer generated animation, more technical skills are asked for. Many people find that they might need to take a course in order to understand the basics of this, but it can be learned at home in your spare time. A decent standard of technical knowledge is necessary however.

Animators can work varying hours through the week, and income is often varied depending on what work they have available at any given time. Sometimes animators will have to put in long hours in order to keep to deadlines. You will normally be working in an office or studio, and normally on a freelance basis, although on some rare occasions you could find a fulltime permanent job.

While no professional qualifications are actually necessary to become an animator, many animators do possess degrees either in art, animation, or a computer related degree. There are lots of courses out there as well to go on, to help you get better knowledge and appreciation of various techniques and styles used by various animation types. However, whilst qualifications are helpful and you typically will gain a lot by embarking on a course, work experience and a great portfolio are the most critical things when it comes to animation. So for people looking for New careers and perhaps looking into animation, it’s best to just devote your whole time to animating and obtaining a good name for yourself, as a great portfolio will impress a prospective employer or client more so than a few qualifications.

If you are thinking about Careers where you can protect and serve your country, then the Navy is a very good option. To become a Royal Marine Commando you have to be exceptionally fit, and prepared to push yourself to the very limits and further. Commandos’ take part in military operations, and have to be able to think quickly, and keep going when the going gets tough. To become a Commando, no recognised qualifications are required, applicants do however need to finish a difficult fitness course, which runs over a course of 3 days. It’s worth noting that right now however, only men can apply for jobs in the Royal Marines.

Of course, it’s not all about fighting and running about in the Navy. One of the Careers offered is the role of Information Systems Engineer. It is the task of these people to handle and oversee the running and maintenance of the Navy’s systems and networks, both on land and at sea. For this career, a degree in a computing based subject is essential, but applicants can enjoy entry level wages of about £32,000.

If you are a bit more of a people person, you may aim for a job as a Training Management Officer. This role includes making sure that everyone else is adequately trained and ready to do their own jobs – so you need a sound level of knowledge yourself. As such, again a degree is needed for entry to this career. This career applies to both ships and land – a training management officer at sea will be offering hands on training for people on board a ship.

This is just a minute selection of all the New careers available in the Navy – there are hundreds more. All of them give good opportunity for your own personal development and career progression. As you can see, you don’t just need to be a big tough guy to enter the Navy – there are other, critical careers to help keep things running efficiently. A job in the Navy will offer you a great salary, good holidays, and of course – the satisfaction of doing a job where you are actively helping to prote¬ct your country.
